    Insurance Authority Premium Levy

    Pursuant to the Insurance (Levy) Order and Insurance (Levy) Regulation, Insurance Companies will collect IA Premium Levy on insurance premiums from your insurance policies effecting from 1-Jan-2020 onwards. This is the legal obligation of policyholders to pay a levy when premium is paid. The levy will be collected by Insurance Companies and then remit to Insurance Authority as required by the law.

    Eligibility

    1. The proposer / applicant must be aged 18 or above and a legal resident of Hong Kong, China. For company proposer / applicant, the company must be registered in Hong Kong, China.

    2. The proposer / applicant (company) must pass the relevant customer identification review of BOCOM Insurance.

    3. The insured premises must be located within a building made by reinforced concrete and bricks. Open area such as roof, garden or podium are excluded. Sublet and/or subdivided premises are also excluded.

    4. The building of the insured premises located can be either an individual flat within a multi-storey

    residential building but excluding independent house /village house &/or public housing available

    for sale or rent. If the insured premises is an independent house/ a village house, the insurance application requires separate quotation and underwriting, and additional terms may be applied or the application may be rejected.

    5. Self-use or rental properties can also be insured. Should the insured premise be rented out and is not occupied by proposer/applicant, this Plan would cover insured’s own contents within and his/her third party legal liability arising as owner related thereof.

    Major Exclusions

    War, civil war, mutiny, civil commotion assuming the proportions of or amounting to a popular rising,

    military rising, rebellion, revolution, insurrection or military or usurped power, martial law, Terrorist

    attack, Nuclear Fission, Radioactive Contamination, equipment for occupational or commercial use,

    contact lenses, depreciation, infestation, moldy, mechanical or electrical breakdown, dishonesty act

    of Insured, landslips or subsidence, animals, plants or any kind of creature, communicable diseases, cyber loss. For other exclusions, please refer to original policy provisions.
