Bank of Communications (Hong Kong) Limited (“the Bank”) would like to alert customers to the unauthorized third party apps and/or websites requesting customers to provide partial or all personal information. The Bank will never share customers’ personal or account information with third-party service providers through open APIs without customers’ consent. The Bank hereby reminds customers not to disclose the banking details such as Internet Banking and/or Mobile Banking usernames, passwords and one time passwords to any third party service providers, no matter they are authorized by the Bank or not to safeguard your personal information.

Interbank Account Data Sharing


Interbank Account Data Sharing (IADS) aims to allow customers to securely and efficiently share their bank account data with other banks subject to customer consent. With your consent, banks provide you with more customized services with the data shared. For details, please refer to the webpage of Hong Kong Monetary Authority.

1.Is it mandatory for me to share my account data with other banks?
The Bank will only share your account data with other banks with your consent.


2.Who can grant consent to share data with other banks?

Our customers of retail banking or corporate banking can grant consent to share their account data if they hold a deposit account and have a personal or corporate internet banking account.


3.What data will be shared with other banks with my consent?

With your consent, the Bank will share the following data of your deposit account (savings and current accounts) with the banks selected by you.

  • Account Availability
  • Account Status
  • Account Balances
  • Account Transactions

4.How long is the validity period of the consent for sharing data?
The validity period is one year. The Bank will review the suitability of this setting from time to time.


5.Can I review the list of banks with my consent to share data with?

Personal customers can review the list of banks with your consent to share data with on our bank’s internet banking platform or mobile banking app (Banking Services Setting > Open API Enquiry and Maintenance > Provide account information to other banks).


Corporate customers can log in to corporate online banking and click on the "OPEN API" > "Consolidated View of Accounts (Local Bank)" page to view the valid account data sharing authorization on the page.


6.After granting consent to share my account data, can I revoke my consent?

Personal customers can revoke your consent to share data with other banks on our bank's internet banking platform or mobile banking app (Banking Services Setting > Open API Enquiry and Maintenance > Provide account information to other banks).


Corporate customers can check your effective authorization by logging into corporate online banking and click "OPEN API" > "Consolidated View of Accounts (Local Bank)" page. After clicking "Cancel" and carefully reading and confirming the terms and conditions, the enterprise can cancel the authorization.
