Credit Card Paper Statement Service Fee

Starting from 1 January 2019, the Bank implemented Credit Card Paper Statement Service Fee(the “Fee”) to customers who choose to receive Credit Card paper statement(s)(the "Cardholders"). Cardholders can now login our Internet Banking services to register for our e-Statement service and abandon paper statement. Cardholders can choose to receive the reminder by email or SMS upon latest statement issuance. Cardholders can also login our Internet Banking to view, download and/or print the e-Statement.

 
Details of the Fee:
Charging Period Charging Criteria Fee Debit Period
For every half year from 1 January to 30 June and 1 July to 31 December Starting from effective date1,generate ONE or more paper statement(s) during the charging period, Fee will be levied on the credit card account HK$20 for each charging period2 For the Fee generated during the period from 1 January to 30 June, the debit month will be in July of the same year;
For the Fee generated during the period from 1 July to 31 December, the debit month will be in January of the following year.

1Classic Card and Gold Card with effective from 1st January, 2019;
Platinum Card and Diamond Card with effective from 1st January, 2020

2If a customer has more than one principal credit card and receives paper statements for all of the credit card account during charging period, a HK$20 Fee will be applied and debited from the credit card account with the latest transaction record during the debit period.



Fee Exemption:

Customers who meet any one of the following criteria will be exempted from the Fee. If you meet either point 2 or point 3 below, please visit any of our outlets to arrange the Fee exemption.

  1. Aged 65 and above;
  2. Persons who present a proof of disability document (e.g. document of receiving government disability allowance);
  3. Recipients of Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (supporting documents required).

Please note that the above changes shall be binding on you if you continue using or retaining your Card starting from effective date. We may not be able to continue providing services to you if you do not accept the above changes.
